The Turkana area is a very remote desert area of Northwest Kenya. Here illiteracy is estimated to be around 99.9%.

Last year, we began a school with only a temporary structure.

Recently, we have begun construction on a permanent building which is projected to be finished by May of 2006. The government of Kenya has agreed to partner with us. As we build school buildings, they have agreed to provide the teachers.

Together with your support, we can continue to join with the Kenyan government to battle illiteracy in this remote area.
